This Privacy Policy describes how ReachOut ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ReachOut mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account, we collect:
* Email address
* Password (stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider)
* Full name (which appears on like stamps you send to other users)
* Username
* Profile photo (if you upload one)
When you create posts, we collect:
* Photos you upload
* Captions you write (up to 100 words)
* The approximate location associated with your post, displayed at the city or neighborhood level
When you interact with other users' content, we collect:
* Likes you give to posts
* Private comments you write (visible only to you)
* The approximate city you are in when you give a like, which is displayed publicly on the postcard you likedInformation Collected Automatically
We may automatically collect:
* Device information (device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers)
* App usage information (features you use, screens you visit)
* Crash reports and performance data through Sentry, our crash reporting provider
* Approximate location to determine the city for postcard postmarks and like stamps
* Approximate location to determine proximity for friend-finding via Bluetooth
We do not collect precise GPS coordinates. Location data is rounded to approximately one mile precision before being stored.Information from Other Sources
If you sign in using a third-party service (such as Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In), we receive basic profile information from those services, such as your name and email address, in accordance with the permissions you grant.
When you choose to find friends from your contacts, we hash your contacts' phone numbers on your device using SHA-256. Only these hashed values are sent to our servers to match against existing users. We never receive or store the actual phone numbers, names, or other contact information of people in your address book.How We Use Information

* Provide, maintain, and improve the App
* Create and manage your account
* Display your posts to your friends and your friends' posts to you
* Match you with friends already on the App
* Send invitations to non-users that you choose to invite (sent via your device's messaging app, not through our servers)
* Show postmarks and like stamps with location information
* Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
* Diagnose technical problems and improve App performance

With Other Users
By design, certain information is visible to other users:
* Your username, full name, and profile photo are visible to your friends
* Your posts (photos, captions, location) are visible to your friends
* When you like a post, your full name and the city you were in at the time are publicly displayed as a stamp on that postcard, visible to anyone who can view that post
With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the App:
* Supabase: provides our backend infrastructure, authentication, and data storage
* Sentry: provides crash reporting and performance monitoring
* Mapbox: provides geocoding services to convert coordinates into city or neighborhood names
* Apple and Google: provide third-party sign-in services (only if you choose to use them)
These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information.For Legal Reasons
We may disclose information if required by law, in response to valid legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or ReachOut.
In Connection with a Business Transfer

Account Management
You can update your profile information, change your full name, replace your profile photo, or modify your tags at any time from the Settings menu in the App.
Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Settings menu. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, posts, photos, comments, likes, like stamps, and friend connections from our active systems. Some information may persist in backups for a limited period before being fully deleted.Location Permissions
You can disable location access at any time through your device's settings. If you disable location access, postmarks on your posts and like stamps may not show a city.Contacts Permissions
You can disable contacts access at any time through your device's settings. The contact-matching feature uses on-device hashing and never uploads your contacts.Marketing Communications

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your information from active systems within 30 days. Backups containing your information are retained for up to 90 days before being permanently deleted.
Some information may be retained longer if required by law, for fraud prevention, or to resolve disputes.Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (database encryption through Supabase). However, no system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable laws.Children's Privacy
ReachOut is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at [your support email] and we will delete the information.

ReachOut is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
